The Russian invaders, having suffered huge losses during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, are trying to replenish their ranks with conscripts from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
This was announced today, April 2, in the evening building of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the military units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, which are deployed in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, explanatory activities are actively carried out among conscripts, the General Staff notes. – They tell young people about the need for conscripts to sign contracts for morph and participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier today, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, said on the air of Public Radio that, according to his information,
the occupiers will not be able to mobilize the number of people they need in Crimea – the Crimeans are not ready to fight against Ukraine.
In Crimea, those who still remain fans of Russia clearly saw the first signs of war. Crimea became a frontline territory. They understand that the liberation of Crimea is inevitable, and those who theoretically could, or should enlist in the Russian army, are also afraid and do not go there,” Chubarov said.
According to the head of the Mejlis, the wave of hidden mobilization on the peninsula has now subsided, but the military registration and enlistment offices are working, men are constantly being called in for clarifications, etc.
This keeps people in a certain tension, so many who left the Crimea in September, October, November, December last year, in order to avoid forced mobilization, do not return to the peninsula. They already came with lists,” he added.
