The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for reform of the UN Security Council.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky supported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s initiative to reform the UN Security Council. He wrote about it in Twitter 2 April.
“I agree with Zelensky that the UN Security Council needs to be changed. The latest evidence of this is that the institution that is supposed to ensure peace is led by a country that violates the UN Charter and threatens the security of the whole world with its barbaric behavior,” said the Czech Foreign Minister.
It will be remembered that on April 1, a month began, during which Russia, which is also a permanent member of this body, will lead the UN Security Council. In total, the UN Security Council includes 15 countries, of which five are permanent (Russia, China, USA, Great Britain and France).
Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that if Russia still heads the UN Security Council, it needs to be pushed into a corner with the help of methods and not allowed to promote false narratives about the war against Ukraine.
