Last year, in the regions of Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihiv, sappers captured about 50 thousand hectares, which made it possible to carry out the autumn harvest and sowing campaign.
In Ukraine, it is necessary to clear about 470,000 hectares of agricultural land in nine regions. Serhiy Reva, head of the department for organizational work on humanitarian demining of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said this on the air of the telethon, reports Suspіlne.
It was reported that last year in the regions of Kyiv, Sumy and Chernigov, sappers were able to clear about 50 thousand hectares, which made it possible to conduct an autumn campaign for harvesting and sowing.
“This year we continue to work on demining farmland. Realizing that large areas need to be demined, we developed a plan for humanitarian demining of farmland. This plan refers to approximately 470,000 hectares that we have to clear the mines in nine regions,” Reva said.
Reva noted that approximately 174 thousand hectares of these 470 are subject to immediate demining.
Recall that Ukraine approved a plan for humanitarian demining of agricultural land.
