New sanctions against the Russian Federation and its supporters were introduced to Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, April 1, put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions against a number of individuals and legal entities. The head of state signed decrees No. 191/2023 and No. 192/2023. This was reported in the press service of the Office of the President.
The sanctions list includes several citizens of Ukraine and more than 200 Russians. In general, sanctions were imposed against 273 people and 380 legal entities. In particular, Zelensky imposed sanctions against the former president of the Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Boguslayev.
The sanctions will be in effect for 10 years. They include the freezing of assets, the complete cessation of trade operations, the restriction, partial or complete cessation of the transit of resources, flights and transportation through the territory of Ukraine, the prevention of the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine and the suspension of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations.
Also, the sanctions will annul or stop licenses for a certain type of activity, in particular, for the use of subsoil. Persons and companies that are under sanctions are prohibited from participating in privatization, renting state property by residents.
In addition, it provides for a ban or restriction on the entry of foreign non-military ships and warships to the territorial sea of Ukraine, its internal waters, ports and aircraft into the airspace of Ukraine or landing on the Ukrainian territory of Ukraine.
Recall, on March 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, according to which sanctions are imposed against 300 individuals and 141 legal entities. The list, in particular, included Syrian President Bashar Hafez al-Assad and several Syrian officials.
