The Office of the President explained the initiative to extend martial law until the end of August this year.
It is unlikely that the current war will end by the end of the summer. This forecast was voiced by Advisor to the Office of the President Alexei Arestovich on Wednesday, May 18th.
“It’s clear to me that this war is unlikely to end in the fall,” he said.
In this regard, the representative of the Presidential Office considered fair the proposal of President Volodymyr Zelensky to extend martial law for 90 days, until August 25.
“Every time martial law is resumed for 30 days is giving false hope to the Ukrainians,” Arestovich is convinced.
The expert also informed that the next stage of the war for the occupiers was a shift in defense, and “the Russians clearly understood this.”
Earlier, the Office of the President said that Ukraine could end the war against Russia by the end of 2022, provided that Western partners impose an embargo on oil and supply tanks, aircraft and artillery.
