The Louisville woman filed an emergency protection order against Cleveland Cavaliers defender Rajon Rondo, alleging the former Kentucky star hit her with a gun and threatened to kill her.
The woman said Rondo was “angry” last week and on Friday filed an EPO application in Jefferson District Court for the family, according to reports. He told the EPO that Rondo was playing video games with a child when he asked the child to finish his laundry so he could wash the family’s clothes.
When the boy got up to do so, he said Rondo removed the game console from the wall, went down, broke a cup of tea, threw away a few bottles of water and started shouting and cursing. According to the EPO, Rondo came out and knocked on the trash can, turned on the scene lights and moved his vehicle to the lawn.
When the woman confronted Rondo, the EPO continued, he said, “You’re dead.” After leaving the house for a while, Rondo returned and hit the window with a gun. The woman told EPO that the player was shouting at the children and asking why they were afraid of her when she was holding a gun.
The woman called former Louisville subway police chief Yvette Gentry, who later returned home as well. However, the woman said that Rondo would not let her into the nobility. The woman said she locked herself in the house with the children, while Gentry told her that Rondo was gone and had a gun.
Two days after the alleged incident, the judge issued a protection order for the woman. The judge ordered Rondo not to contact him and to stay at least 500 feet away from him.
Last season, Rondo played 39 games between the Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. He played for eight other NBA clubs, including the Boston Celtics in 2006-14, after finishing 21st in the 2006 draft.
