A Russian serviceman has been identified who, during the occupation of Izyum, shot a forensic expert for pro-Ukrainian stance.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a Russian military officer was notified in absentia of a suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Law enforcers have identified a Russian serviceman who committed a war crime. This is a 26-year-old native of Dagestan, commander of a combat vehicle of a jet battalion of military unit 61 899 27 of a separate guards motorized rifle brigade of the 1st tank army of the Western Military District of the RF Armed Forces.
According to the investigation, on May 7, 2022, the Russian military came to the pathological department of the Central City Hospital of the Peschanskaya Mother of God in Izyum. Currently, there were workers at their workplace, among whom was a 70-year-old forensic expert who, after a serious illness, lost his leg and moved on a prosthesis.
The occupant introduced himself, called himself “Kadyrov’s nephew” and started talking to the employees. The forensic expert said that he considered the presence of the military of the Russian Federation on the territory of Izyum illegal and said: “Who called you here?”.
The Russian soldier began to behave aggressively. He hit the expert several times in the face, fired four shots from a Kalashnikov into the ceiling.
Frightened, the laboratory assistant ran out into the street. The occupier ordered the pathologist to immediately return her back. The husband followed her. When the Russian serviceman and the forensic expert were alone in the office, the occupier shot the man.
The issue of putting the suspect on the wanted list is being decided.
