Rep. Jamaal Bowman (DN.Y.) on Wednesday condemned Republican opposition to the gun control legislation.
“They are all cowards! They will do absolutely nothing to save our children’s lives. Coward,” Bowman She said to reporters outside the House as MPs exited.
Representative. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who heads the pro-gun group Second Amendment, asked Bowman what he was talking about when he passed.
“I’m talking about gun violence!” Bowman shouted.
Massie began to argue that teachers should carry guns, delighting Bowman.
“Do you have weapons?” Bowman exclaimed. “More guns lead to more deaths.”
He accused Massie of “bringing water for the gun lobby.”
Massie then told Bowman to calm down.
“Take it easy? Kids are dying!” cried Bowman “The solution is not to arm teachers.”
boulder once posted a Christmas photo of his family pushing weapons with the caption: “ps. Santa, please bring the ammo.
Bowman’s outburst comes on the heels of Monday’s mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. Three 9-year-old children and three adults were killed by a shooter who police say legally acquired seven firearms, including the two assault rifles and pistol they were carrying, during the attack.
Many Americans, including President Joe Biden and Democratic lawmakers, have called for more effective gun control laws, such as reinstating the assault weapons ban, after the attack. However, they face opposition from Republicans, many of whom receive large campaign donations from the gun lobby.
