On the other hand, the Secretary of the Security Council RussiaNikolai Patrushev confirmed that Moscow remains true to its commitment to avoid nuclear conflict.
During a visit to New Delhi, Patrushev accused Western countries of “provocative behavior in Ukrainewhich could have “catastrophic consequences” as it contradicts the January 3, 2022 statement by the leaders of the five major nuclear powers that nuclear war is unacceptable.
“Russia, for its part, remains fully committed to this statement and is convinced of the need to avoid any military confrontation between countries possessing nuclear weapons,” TASS quoted Patrushev as saying.
In recent days, Moscow has accused the West of escalating the situation in Ukraine following the announcement of the shipment of depleted uranium munitions.
In reply, Russia announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, which it plans to implement in the coming months.
