Over the past day, 66 fires occurred in the Kyiv region, 47 of which were grass flooring on a total area of almost 80 hectares.
This was announced today, March 26, by the press service of the State Emergency Service of the Kyiv region.
The largest burnouts of dry vegetation are observed:
- in the villages of Protsev and Zherebyatyn, Boryspil District, rescuers extinguished a deadwood fire on a total area of 33 hectares;
- in the city of Vasilkov, Obukhovsky district – on an area of 5 hectares;
- in the village of Torchitskaya steppe, Belotserkovsky district – 3.5 ha
- the village of Denisy, Boryspil district – 3.5 ha;
- in the city of Mironovka, Obukhovsky district – 3 hectares.
All fires were extinguished in a timely manner by specialists of the State Emergency Service, the department notes.
Rescuers urge citizens not to burn the remnants of dry vegetation and debris in their own backyards – this can lead to the ignition of peat bogs and forest fires in the territories bordering them.
