Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is urging the European Union to buy ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside the bloc.
In several countries and regions where there is much more ammunition in stock than in EU countries. That is why you need to buy them from outside, as Poland is now buying ultra-modern weapons K2, K9 and Abrams from abroad. This was stated by Morawiecki, reports RMF 24.
I will convince them, because ammunition is needed very quickly, he stressed.
According to the Polish prime minister, it is necessary to start a dialogue in advance, because there are countries that remain neutral on the issue of supplying weapons. Therefore, it is necessary to buy ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from European countries, which will give permission for the export and transfer of these ammunition.
Recall that the EU countries have agreed to supply Ukraine with a million artillery ammunition worth 2 billion euros. Brussels hopes that deliveries will be made within the next two years. Josep Borrell, head of European diplomacy, called it a “historic decision.”
The current volumes of ammunition production in Europe do not provide the level requested by Ukraine.
