The Russian media space is reacting “with considerable concern” to reports of a slowdown in Russian operations and a possible counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to ISW, reports are increasingly being heard in the Russian information space about the preparation of a possible Ukrainian counteroffensive. Analysts do not rule out that the so-called “big” Russian spring offensive seems to be “approaching its culmination, so the enemy’s information space is reacting to the slowdown in Russian operations and the possibility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to seize the initiative with considerable concern.”
The Russian military command will need to move a significant amount of forces to the front to either prevent a climax or launch new offensive operations, and it is unlikely that such forces exist in sufficient numbers to do both, the ISW review for March 24.
In addition, the British Ministry of Defense reported that at least a thousand Russian servicemen who were trained at the 230th combined-arms Obuzko-Lesnovsky training ground in Belarusian Brest, were redeployed to Russia.
