In France, production of self-propelled howitzers 155-mm Caesar howitzers doubled. This is what Minister of Defense Sebastien Lecornu said, according to Les Echos on Friday, March 24.
“The production rate of Nexter’s Caesar self-propelled 155-mm howitzers will be doubled from the current four to eight units per month,” he said.
The Minister added that the production of Mistral surface-to-air missiles will also be doubled to 40 units per month. The production of the Ground Master air defense radar will also be accelerated. From September they will be produced at a cost of 24 units per year.
Earlier, France transferred 18 Caesar howitzers to Ukraine, and in January promised to transfer 12 more self-propelled guns.
It was also reported that Denmark handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine all Caesar installations in service – 19 units.
