Emmanuel Macron and Ursula von der Leyen plan to visit China together early next month.
French President Emmanuel Macron plans to visit China in early April. According to him, he will make his visit accompanied by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The French leader announced this at a press conference in Brussels after the end of the EU summit on Friday, March 24.
“I invited Chairman von der Leyen to join me for part of the visit to show Beijing a single (European – ed.) voice,” he said.
It should be noted that Wang Yi, head of the Foreign Affairs Commission office of the CPC Central Committee, visited Paris in February. In his speech, he announced that the French President’s visit to China in the first half of the year is under preparation.
Later, during a traditional visit to the Paris agricultural salon, Macron personally confirmed to reporters the upcoming visit in early April. However, he did not specify the date.
It can be remembered that US President Joe Biden talked about Macron’s help in Ukraine.
