The United States announced the return of diplomats to Kyiv

The US plans to continue to impose new sanctions, export controls and diplomatic pressure on Russia.

Soon, the US Embassy will begin working in Kyiv, and diplomats will resume their usual work in Ukraine. It was reported on Sunday, May 15 by NBC News, citing Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

“The US Embassy will reopen in Kyiv and will resume work as soon as possible,” he said.

He also said that diplomats are taking all precautions, but they understand that the work of the diplomatic mission must be continued.

“American diplomats returned to Ukraine after a few weeks of work in Poland,” Blinken said.

Speaking about where the diplomats intend to focus their work, Blinken noted that the U.S. will continue to introduce new sanctions, export controls and diplomatic pressure on Russia as needed.

Also, the diplomat said the US supports EU efforts to achieve independence from Russia’s energy, and said the US is taking several steps to help, including shifting significant gas supplies to Europe.

Recall, voting in the US Senate on a new $ 40 billion aid package to Ukraine will take place on May 16.
