Fewer than 3,500 residents, including 32 children, remain in the city in Donbass, where the heaviest fighting is taking place.

Less than 3.5 thousand people remained in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, including 32 children. This was announced at a briefing on Thursday, March 23, by the head of the Donetsk OVA, Pavel Kirilenko.

According to him, those who remain in the region have no desire to evacuate and are hiding from rescuers, volunteers and local authorities.

“Bakhmut is a city that had about 84 thousand inhabitants on February 24, 2022. Now, according to our estimates, less than 3.5 thousand people remained in the city. These are the people who do not want to leave the word” absolutely “, said Kirilenko.

The head of the Regional State Administration also added that now 32 children remain in Bakhmut, who are there with their parents. Their parents are hiding and don’t want to leave the city. Therefore, the forced evacuation was approved.

“There are some features, but nevertheless, we continue to work, and not only in Bakhmut. We occupied the neighboring city of Chasov Yar, where we reached the 0 mark. That is, all the children were evacuated, but no desire you do,” he said. Kirilenko.
