Putin’s apostate Yevgeny Prigozhin, after the failure of his Wagner PPK in Ukraine, is allegedly going to focus on Africa again.
Bloomberg writes about the redeployment of the “musician” with reference to interlocutors familiar with the situation.
As noted, now there are no signs of capsizing the mercenaries. However, the sources of the publication say that attention will be paid to this in the future.
Prigozhin is actually preparing to curtail the activities of this paramilitary group in Ukraine and “focus again on Africa.”
Russian security officials and the political establishment view Prigogine as a threat to the rising regime of Vladimir Putin, the agency explains, and are beginning to put a spoke in his wheel.
After the Kremlin forbade the recruitment of prisoners in places of deprivation of liberty for war (which, however, was always illegal), and “deprived the mercenaries themselves of ammunition” (we are talking about the so-called “shell hunger”, because of which Prigozhin went into open conflict with (Ministry of Defense), it has become much more difficult for units of the Wagner PIK (Bloomberg directly calls it the personal army of a businessman) to fight in Ukraine, the newspaper writes.
