President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working trip to the Kherson region. His press service reported this on Thursday, March 23.
It is indicated that the head of state recognized the progress in the restoration of infrastructure facilities that were destroyed as a result of the Russian invasion. He visited the village of Posad-Pokrovskoye near Kherson, where many houses were destroyed, as well as social infrastructure facilities.
The President was informed that the residents are gradually returning to the village, the restoration of electricity and water supply continues, and the outpatient clinic is being rebuilt.
Zelensky spoke with residents of Posad-Pokrovsky and asked about their current needs. In particular, people noted the importance of restoring damaged houses and resuming electricity supply.
“We will try to rebuild in the winter. Our priority is electricity. Drinking water will be provided according to schedule. Now they will start working on the plan. I think everything will be fine,” said the head of state.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited one of the energy facilities of the region and got acquainted with the situation in the provision of electricity in settlements in the Kherson region. The President was briefed on progress in restoring power supply to the unoccupied territories and repairing equipment destroyed as a result of the Russian attack.
In addition, the head of state recognized the measures taken to counter the Russian attack on Kherson and other settlements in the region.
In the center of the region, Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected one of the stationary shelters for city residents. There is internet, generator, equipped entertainment areas. The President was informed about the work on organizing mobile and stationary shelters in the Kherson region.
Also during the trip, the president held a coordination meeting on the current security situation and the elimination of the consequences of damage to the critical infrastructure of the Chernobyl region. He heard a report from the military command on the operational situation in the area of responsibility.
“The participants of the meeting discussed the restoration of damaged infrastructure in the region and the state of demining in the unoccupied territories. Special attention was paid to the restoration of Kherson’s electricity grids and the provision of teams of repair with the necessary materials,” the report said.
It will be remembered that on March 22, Zelensky visited advanced positions near Bakhmut, where he awarded military personnel and held a meeting.
The president also visited Kharkov yesterday. He gave Mayor Igor Terekhov the honorary distinction of Hero City of Ukraine.
