Canada records population growth in 65 years

The country’s population grew by more than a million people a year for the first time. The increase was 2.7%

Canada’s population grew by more than a million people a year, breaking previous records. This is stated in the Statistics Canada report.

Between January 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023, Canada’s population increased by 1,050,110 people.

This is also the highest annual population growth rate (2.7%) in the country’s history since 1957, when the annual growth rate was 3.3%.

The increase in population is due to the Canadian government’s plan to attract as many immigrants as possible to the country. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a plan to accept half a million immigrants a year.

Canada welcomed 437,000 immigrants last year, with a net increase in non-permanent residents of 607,782.

Earlier it was reported that in 2022, in the territory controlled by Ukraine, the population will decrease by 335,000.
