The military court of the Reutov garrison sent Vadim Dragomiretsky to a pre-trial detention center for a month and 14 days – until May 4.
Major General Vadim Dragomiretsky, Deputy Commander of the Central District of the Russian Guard Troops, was sent to a pre-trial detention center by the Reutov garrison military court. The man is suspected of bribery in the amount of more than 28 million rubles. This was reported by the Russian propaganda news agency TASS on Wednesday, March 22.
“To choose a preventive measure against Dragomiretsky in the form of detention for one month and 14 days, that is, until May 4,” the message said.
The defendant’s attorney did not respond to a media question about whether the defense will appeal Dragomiretsky’s arrest.
State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein on Monday, March 20, said that military investigative authorities have opened a criminal case against Dragomiretsky on suspicion of accepting multimillion-dollar bribes and abuse of power.
During the court session, which was held behind closed doors, the second defendant in the case of bribery and abuse of power was the head of the district center for the storage of material resources, Colonel of the Russian Guard Kochiev, the news agency added.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against the prosecutor and judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for issuing an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
