The court found the defendants guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced them to 8 to 15 years in prison.
Since the beginning of the year, according to the materials of the military counterintelligence of the Security Service, 10 militants who participated in the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine have been convicted. The court sentenced them to 8 to 15 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
It was noted that among those convicted was an employee of the Belarusian KGB. As part of the Russian private military company Redut, he fought with the Defense Forces in the direction of Kharkov and Kramatorsk. The mercenary was taken during one of the battles in the Donetsk region in September last year. He tried to pass himself off as an ordinary militant and thus wanted to hide his belongings to the Belarusian special service.
Another Belarusian mercenary, an attack aircraft of the private military company Wagner with the call sign “zaspa”, received a prison term. In July of last year, he illegally arrived on the territory of the Donetsk region, and four months later he was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The court also passed a sentence to a citizen of the Russian Federation, who, as part of the fire support group of the Somali battalion, opened fire on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Peski, Donetsk region.
In addition, a militant was convicted, who in 2015 entered the 2nd battalion of the 202nd regiment of the 2nd army corps of the “people’s militia” of the so-called “LPR”. As a gunner of a combat vehicle, he fired at Ukrainian cities from the Grad multiple launch rocket system.
The court found that the defendants were guilty of encroaching on the territorial integrity and nonviolence of Ukraine, treason, creating a terrorist group or terrorist organization, creating a paramilitary or armed formation not provided for by law, and acquisition.
Recall that the court passed sentences on militants taken prisoner near Bakhmut and Ugledar.
In Ukraine, for the first time, a military commissar was sentenced for the “mobilization” in Crimea.
