The need of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for artillery is about 2,000 barrels, which need to be constantly updated. It is expressed through acting. Head of the Main Directorate of Combat Strike Systems of the General Staff, Colonel Sergei Baranov, reports ArmiyaInform.
According to him, while the Ukrainian military needs Soviet equipment, because “war is a very expensive pleasure, and new weapons cost a lot of money.”
Ukraine has the ability to upgrade old equipment with these characteristics that are actually on par with the samples of allied countries.
According to Baranov, this is still being carried out today, there are operating experimental design institutions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I hope that in the near future we will definitely have our improved systems,” said Baranov, noting that now the need is about 2,000 barrels, which, from time and intensive use, have failed and require of updating.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the priority needs of the Ukrainian military in the war against Russia are artillery and ammunition in large quantities.
