The additional restrictions will be in response to severe human rights violations committed by Tehran.
The European Union is imposing a sixth package of sanctions against Iran over human rights violations in the country. This was announced on March 20 by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock in a meeting with colleagues from EU countries, Reuters reports.
“We will discuss here in Brussels, of course, the situation in Iran. And here it is important for us to clearly say that no one can be above the law. In this regard, we adopted the sixth package of sanctions in Brussels , which made it clear that we are not closing our eyes to the extensive human rights violations committed by the regime in Iran,” the minister insisted.
Remember, on February 20, the EU Council included in the list of sanctions on Iran 32 individuals and two legal entities related to the violation of human rights in the country.
