The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted that such information is closed, but the assessments expressed by Politico are far from the truth.
Media information about the alleged “100 thousand dead Ukrainian military” is false. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, published on Monday, March 20.
He reacted in this way to the statement of the American edition of Politico on March 15, which noted that, according to the calculations of American military officials, more than 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers were allegedly killed or wounded in a year of general war, ” including the most numerous soldiers.”
“I declare to you with full responsibility that we do not have 100,000 military casualties. This is impossible. During the war, it was classified information, but 100,000 is completely untrue,” he said.
According to him, only the Ukrainian military and the president know the exact number, and also noted that the ratio of losses is currently 1 to 7, 1 to 8, in some cases 1 to 10 in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine .
“After the war of 2014, we know how to fight, but this is not the case with Russia. In many places, they just had an insane defeat,” the message said.
Danilov added that according to NATO estimates, the daily loss of Russian forces in the battles in Ukraine in killed and wounded reached one and a half thousand people.
Remember that this figure – “100 thousand” was thought up in the fall of last year. In particular, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the alleged 100,000 dead Ukrainian military.
Russian losses in Ukraine exceeded 165,000 dead
