Former people’s representative and leader of the banned Opposition Platform for Life party Viktor Medvedchuk is an “age-related trauma” of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview for Interfax-Ukraine, published on Monday, March 20.
“This (Medvedchuk – ed.) is injury related to Putin’s age. This is an absolutely unbearable story. His time expired on February 24. And all that is left of HLE is no longer a working structure,” said Danilov.
He has the same opinion about the prospects of some other officials during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych.
“The card is played, but the board will not appear,” said the NSDC secretary, referring to former Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Arbuzov and former head of the presidential administration Andrei Klyuyev.
As you know, in April 2022, the SBU detained Medvedchuk after escaping from house arrest at the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. In 2021, the special service revealed some suspicions of Medvedchuk. He is suspected of committing treason, assisting the activities of a terrorist organization and attempting to loot national resources in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
And on September 21, Ukraine exchanged Medvedchuk for 200 prisoners of war, most of them defenders of Azovstal.
