The Russian Investigative Committee suddenly remembered the existence of international law.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against the prosecutor and judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for issuing an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced by the press service of the department on Monday, March 20.
“The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case against the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Ahmad Khan, the judges of the International Criminal Court, Tomoko Akane, Rosario Salvatore Aytala and Sergio Gerardo Ugalde,” the report said.
In the actions of the ICC prosecutor, Russian investigators found signs of crimes under the articles of bringing a person known to be innocent to criminal responsibility, combined with the unlawful accusation of a person who make a grave or especially serious crime, as well as preparations. for an attack on a representative of a foreign state enjoying international protection, to complicate international relations (part 2 of article 299, part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 360 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation).
And in the actions of the ICC judges, the Russian Investigative Committee found signs of crimes under the articles on deliberate illegal detention, as well as preparations for an attack on a representative of a foreign state enjoying international protection, to complicate international relations (part 2 of article 301, part 1 article 30, part 2, article 360 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
“Criminal prosecution is clearly illegal, as there are no grounds for bringing criminal responsibility,” believes the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The Russian ministry suddenly recalled international law and recalled that, in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons of December 14, 1973, heads of state enjoy absolute immunity from the jurisdiction of foreign state.
It will be recalled that on March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the children’s ombudsman, Maria Alekseevna Lvova-Belova. They are suspected of involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
Several countries have already announced that they will arrest Putin if he dares to appear on their territory.
And in Ukraine, negotiations with Russia are ruled as long as the “face of Putin” represents this country.
