The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly accident in the Lviv region involving MP Volodymyr Gevko from the Servant of the People.
Law enforcers found that on March 19 in the evening on the road with the message “Ternopil – Lviv – Rava-Russkaya”, in the village of Zolochiv district, a car driven by a people’s deputy knocked down a pedestrian. The accident occurred outside the unregulated pedestrian crossing. The victim died from his injuries. The press service of the DBR reported this in a commentary to Ukrayinska Pravda.
The department noted that the Drager device showed that the driver was sober.
Now the issue of initiating criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons, resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Recall that on March 19, MP from the Servant of the People party Vladimir Gevko said that he had become a participant in a fatal accident. The parliamentarian said that after the accident he was tested for alcohol and drugs, passed the necessary tests. Gevko promised to continue to participate in all investigative and procedural actions.
