Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said in an interview with the Kyiv Independent that 600 Ukrainian soldiers have completed training in his country.
“We trained 600 Ukrainian infantrymen. We trained one company at a time, three times,” Pevkur said.
In addition, according to the minister, doctors, shooters and military personnel of some other specialties are trained in Estonia.
Pevkur is convinced that Estonia and other NATO members have an obligation to help Ukraine because it is fighting for a free world: that is why the Estonian army has trained Ukrainian soldiers, including infantrymen, snipers and medics, and provided aid worth nearly 400 million euros. .
The minister also mentioned Estonia’s initiative to send at least one million 155-mm artillery shells to Ukraine as soon as possible.
Earlier it was reported that Estonia will provide Ukraine with a package of military aid for about 500 thousand euros.
