The leaders of the two countries signed the corresponding agreement. The first step should be to give the Serbs in Kosovo the right to self-government.
The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, have agreed to an agreement on the normalization of relations between the two countries in the -talks in North Macedonia. Borrell wrote this in Twitter.
“Kosovo and Serbia have agreed to an implementation annex to the agreement on the order of actions to normalize relations. The parties are fully committed to comply with all articles of the agreement and fulfill their obligations promptly and in good faith,” Borrell wrote.
He noted that the first step in the process of normalizing relations should be giving the Serbs in Kosovo the right to self-government.
It will be remembered that in December last year, relations between Serbia and Kosovo worsened. Then the Kosovo special forces entered the territory of the municipality with a majority Serb population against the backdrop of the upcoming re-election.
In response, the Serbian population blocked roads in some settlements with barricades.
And at the end of February it was reported that Serbia and Kosovo supported the EU’s “normalization plan”.
