Ukraine has requested that Russia provide it with lists of all orphans and children deprived of parental care brought to the territory of the Russian Federation. This was stated in the statement of the Vice Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
With such a request, he turned to the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova and the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.
“I propose to immediately transfer to the Ukrainian side the lists of all orphans and children deprived of parental care who: 1) are citizens of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, up to 18 years of age inclusive, 2) are is now temporarily occupied. territories of Ukraine, 3) were transported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to the territory of Russia,” Vereshchuk wrote on Facebook on Saturday, March 18.
It should be noted that so far, more than 16,000 complaints about Ukrainian children illegally exported to the Russian Federation have been officially registered, of which 307 children have been returned home.
As reported, on March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Alekseevna Lvovo-Belova. They are suspected of involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
Lvova-Belova said that despite the warrant for her arrest, she will continue to “work”, and she is “interested in what happens next.”
