United States President Joe Biden commented on the International Criminal Court’s warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the owner of the White House, such a decision is justified because the Russian dictator committed war crimes in Ukraine. And the decision of the court in The Hague is a “very strong position.” Biden’s words are quoted by The New York Times.
I think it’s justified. Putin has clearly committed war crimes,” he said.
Biden also noted that the United States of America is not a member of the International Criminal Court.
On March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, accused of war crimes in Ukraine. The aggressor is suspected of illegally deporting children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia.
After the issuance of the warrant, Putin could be arrested in 123 countries that are parties to the Rome Charter.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that this is a historic decision, from which historical responsibility will begin.
