Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that issuing an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is a decision that will begin with historic responsibility.
“We have a heavy decision of international justice. In a case where there is real hope. The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant for Putin’s arrest. It will be recalled that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued international warrants for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the court’s decision, now Putin must be arrested in 123 countries around the world that have ratified the Rome Statute or recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC.
According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, the Russian Federation does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and considers its decisions “null and void”.
