The German government has initiated the purchase of Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS) to replenish the Bundeswehr after the equipment was transferred to Ukraine. This was reported on March 17 by the newspaper Handelsblatt.
It was noted that the framework agreement with the manufacturing company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, which also produces Leopard 2 tanks, provides for the production and supply of up to 28 self-propelled guns.
According to the publication, the first order was the replacement of ten self-propelled howitzers delivered to Kyiv. The value of the transaction is approximately 185 million euros, most of which is due in 2025.
It is reported that if, after ordering ten Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns, order additional copies, they can only be made in batches of at least six pieces. The value of the order for all 28 self-propelled guns is estimated at 470 million euros.
It was previously reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine received self-propelled guns PzH 2000 from Germany.
Recall that the FRG provided Ukraine with a new package of military assistance, which included artillery shells of 155 mm caliber and rockets for MARS II multiple launch rocket systems.
