Chinese companies in June-December 2022 sold assault rifles, body armor and drone parts to Russian enterprises. This is reported by Politico, citing customs and trade data.
During 2022, several Chinese companies, including one linked to the Beijing authorities, sent 1,000 assault rifles and other equipment that could be used for military purposes, such as drone parts and bulletproof vests, to Russian enterprises.
Among other things, China North Industries Group Corporation Limited, one of China’s largest state defense contractors, shipped CQ-A rifles (like M16s) to Russia’s Tekhkrym company in June.
Da-Jiang Innovations Science & Technology Co, also known as DJI, in November and December, batteries and cameras for drones through the United Arab Emirates to the RF distributor.
In December last year, Moscow imported more than 800 tons of body armor worth about $10 million. These bulletproof vests were made by the Turkish company Ariteks, most of them were imported directly from Turkey, although some arrived in Russia through the UAE. Russia also imported body armor from the Chinese company Xinxing Guangzhou Import & Export Co.
In addition, Russia relied on China for navigational equipment, satellite imagery, vehicle components and other raw materials.
