A series of explosions in coal mines in Colombia have killed 21 miners. It was announced on March 16 at Twitter President of the Republic Gustavo Petro.
“I contacted Governor Nicolás Garcia Bustos who just informed me that despite the best efforts of the rescuers, unfortunately 21 people died as a result of this tragic accident in Sutataous,” he wrote.
An explosion at one of the coal mines in the municipality of Sutataousa occurred on the night of March 14. It was followed by a series of explosions at nearby facilities.
