“On February 6, 11 provinces in the southeast of our country were shaken by a natural disaster that has no equal in its strength and destruction in the world. While approximately 14 million of our citizens were directly affected by these earthquakes, more than 49 thousand people died, more than 115,000 were injured,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday at an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara.
Remember, on February 6, two earthquakes with a magnitude greater than seven points occurred in Turkey. The tremors, followed by thousands of aftershocks, were felt in 11 provinces of the republic and neighboring countries, with Syria suffering the most.
