People’s Deputy from the People’s Servant Yuriy Kamelchuk, suspected of not declaring an apartment for 3.6 million hryvnias, was acquitted.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court acquitted the Deputy from the Servant of the People, Yury Kamelchuk, who was accused of declaring false information, due to the lack of evidence of the composition of the criminal offense. This was reported by the VAKS press service on Facebook on Thursday, March 16.
The panel of judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court issued a verdict, finding the representative of the people not guilty of a criminal offense – declaring false information.
It will be noted that the representative of the citizen was acquitted due to the lack of evidence of his actions in the composition of a criminal offense.
It can be recalled that in January, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against a representative who was accused of intentionally falsifying data in the annual declaration for 2020.
Kamelchuk did not indicate in the declaration an apartment in Pechersk in the center of Kyiv worth more than 3.6 million hryvnias, which he rented from October 2019 to October 2021, and an outstanding bank loan for a total of almost 49 thousand dollars.
It can be recalled that on March 13 this year, approximately 337,000 officials filed declarations. Of the high-ranking officials, 29 people’s representatives, two ministers (of education and defense), two deputy heads of the Office of the President filed declarations.
