The former president of the Russian Federation promised PMC Wagner $15 million for the assassination of an Italian official, according to Il Foglio.
Italian intelligence has learned of a possible assassination attempt on the country’s Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, which may have been supported by Russia. On Wednesday, March 15, the Italian edition of Il Foglio reported.
It was noted that the assassination attempt was ordered by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for a reward of $15 million.
The publication notes that Italian intelligence is concerned about Medvedev’s statements, calling Crosetto “a rare fool.” This is how the Russian politician reacted to Crosetto’s statement that if Russian tanks entered Kyiv, World War III would begin.
It is emphasized that because Medvedev is currently deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council and is close to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, he has influence over decision-making.
The publication reports that the Italian special services intercepted the “order” of the former president of the Russian Federation to kill the Minister of Defense for $15 million. It is said to be addressed to PMC Wagner. At the same time, this request of Medvedev was made even before the statements of the Minister of Defense of Italy, where he accused PMC Wagner of inciting the migration crisis in Europe.
Recall that earlier Medvedev threatened the world with a statement, saying that “we do not need a world without Russia.”
Before that, Medvedev announced the need to reach Poland to move “threat borders” from the Russian Federation.
