Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who liberated the village near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, found a prisoner of war Alexei Gordeev in one of the basements.
With bullet holes and shrapnel in his thigh and back, but alive! He was pulled out of hell by an APU volunteer from New Zealand. There were battles upstairs, and the wounded Aleksey lay in the dungeon for 42 days among his brothers who were killed and dying from wounds, whom he wanted, but could not help, – says front-line correspondent Andrey Tsaplienko.
Aleksey ate crumbs – he lost weight from 80 to 42 kg. The defender of Ukraine had to drink water from puddles, and when it ran out, poisonous antifreeze from a heater.
Alexey is currently in the Dnipro hospital. He was operated on, he is being treated for poisoning and dystrophy, and they plan to soon transfer him to a clinic in Kyiv.
The father of the warrior, Alexander Gordeev, wrote:
Our prayers are closer to God, because our guys are warriors of light! Sincere thanks to everyone who prayed, searched, supported and helped, was there for all these endless months and a half. Together we found our Cossack! Glory to the heroes!
