Herman Galushchenko also said that Ukraine is interested in Iceland’s experience on the issue of “green” energy.
The experience of Iceland will help Ukraine to decentralize the energy system in the development of renewable energy sources. This will make it more stable in a war. This is what Energy Minister German Galushchenko said in a meeting with an Icelandic delegation led by Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir.
The official noted that Ukraine is interested in cooperation in the field of wind and hydropower, as well as energy storage projects.
According to the head of the Ministry of Energy, the Ukrainian state will begin to accelerate the transition to “green” energy and replace thermal generation damaged by the enemy with modern carbon-free technologies.
“The development of renewable energy will allow us to make our energy system more sustainable and decentralized in a war,” concluded Galushchenko.
Earlier, Galushchenko said that Ukraine is ending the heating season with excess capacity and sufficient reserves of gas and coal.
