A conservative group highlighted Tucker Carlson’s affinity for spreading Russian propaganda in a new video.
The Fox News host has made a habit of leaning on Kremlin talking points and conspiracy theories ever since Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. Days before the war began, Carlson ruefully defended Putin and said Ukraine “wasn’t a democracy.” Carlson’s mimicry was so clear that several times excerpts from his shows were broadcast on state-sponsored Russian television.
The Republican Accountability Project slammed Carlson in a new video, which shows 96 seconds of the Fox News host “parroting Putin”:
Carlson has repeatedly sided with Russia over his government, criticizing the United States for providing continued support to Ukraine and rationalizing Russian aggression. His views have taken root in the Republican base and in some members of Congress, so much so that during a recent visit with Republicans to Washington to lobby for aid to Ukraine, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was “astounded and horrified by the way many people fear a boy named Tucker Carlson.
The Republican Accountability Project, a never-Trump PAC, targets GOP members who have undermined democracy by supporting former President Donald Trump, his lies about the 2020 presidential election and the January 6, 2021 attack that instigated the United States Capitol.
