Moscow will continue to seek the removal of all sanctions – direct and indirect – for the supply of its agricultural products, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The grain deal was extended by 60 days and on the same terms. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko, TASS reports on Tuesday, March 14.
“Our Deputy Minister (Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin – ed.), who is leading this deal, made a statement yesterday. In fact, the deal was extended, it was agreed that it was extended for 60 days. Its package nature is reaffirmed,” Grushko said.
According to him, Moscow will continue to work to ensure that the obligations given to Russia “in terms of the implementation of the second track, and this is the elimination of all sanctions – direct and indirect – for supply of agricultural products of the Russian Federation to international markets, is fulfilled.”
Grushko said that the process of removing restrictions on the export of agricultural products from the Russian Federation is underway, “but very slowly,” because “artificial obstacles, delays” allegedly created.
As you know, the grain deal ended in July 2022 and was extended for 120 days in November. His term expires this week – March 18. Ukraine is in favor of extending the deal for a year at the same time and proposes to expand its operation in the port of Nikolaev.
Remember that Russia blocks the inspection of grain ships in the Bosphorus. As a result, in January, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products fell by 25% compared to December.
Last week in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary-General António Guterres supported the extension of the grain deal.
