In addition to more than 8,231 deaths, the UN also recorded 13,734 injuries due to the Russian aggression.
Russia’s entire invasion of Ukraine killed 8,231 civilians in the country and injured 13,734 more. This is stated in the report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The organization confirmed the deaths of 3664 men, 2173 women, 260 men and 203 women. The gender of 31 children and 1900 adults has not yet been determined.
According to the UN, 17,619 victims (6,372 dead and 11,247 wounded) were in the territory controlled by Ukraine at the time of the Russian invasion.
From March 1 to March 12, the organization recorded 293 civilian casualties – 84 dead and 209 wounded.
It was emphasized that the actual number of civilian casualties was higher, as there was a delay in receiving information from some areas where heavy fighting took place. This applies, for example, to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lisichansk, Popasna and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region).
We remind you, earlier the UN requested 5.6 billion dollars to help Ukrainians affected by the full-scale invasion of Russia.
