Mariupol City Council representatives have not met even once since the start of Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine.
In Ukraine, a Mariupol military administration may be created in the near future. This was announced on Monday, March 13, by the head of Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko on Facebook.
He noted that since the beginning of the war, representatives of the Mariupol City Council have never gathered for meetings.
“In the near future, the issue of the creation of the military administration of Mariupol will be resolved. This situation indicates, and it is quite possible that this will happen in other communities if the work of the local councils elected in 2020 election will continue,” Kirilenko wrote.
It is noteworthy that earlier the representatives of the Mariupol City Council turned to Kirilenko with a request to start the creation of the military administration of the city of Mariupol. But, at the same time, a decision of Donetsk OVA is not enough; it requires the approval of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, the Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, said that the occupiers were preparing to flee from the territories they occupied.
It was also reported that in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, the Russians could not recruit a sufficient number of people into the fake bodies of the occupation administration.
