Billions of dollars were spent on buying various types of weapons, repairing military equipment, and providing assistance to Ukrainians.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian authorities have sent approximately $ 8.3 billion to fight the invaders and help the population. This was announced by Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko, writing on Thursday, May 12, Reuters.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the funds were used to purchase various types of weapons, repair military equipment, and provide assistance to temporary evacuees.
Marchenko said that in April Ukraine received only 60% of planned tax revenues, and in May and June revenues are expected at the level of 45-50%.
The minister also informed that last month, Kyiv received economic support from abroad in the amount of nearly $ 2 billion, of which $ 719 million was issued in the form of grants. In total, since the beginning of the war, the Allies have allocated $ 5.4 billion to Ukraine, including $ 801 million in grants.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Finance concluded, Ukraine urgently needs additional foreign support, as it is forced to send billions of dollars for emergency costs.
As reported, the state debt and guaranteed state of Ukraine on March 31, 2022 reached UAH 2,832.03 billion, or $ 96.81 billion. Throughout the month, debt rose 3.7%.
