Citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation abuse tourist visas and try to get work in Indonesia.
Authorities on the Indonesian island of Bali have proposed to stop issuing visas on arrival for citizens of Ukraine and Russia as they try to find work by entering on tourist visas. This was reported by The Jakarta Post, citing the island’s leader Vayan Koster.
The official has already submitted a corresponding request to Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice.
Coster said he has received many complaints about tourists from both countries recently. According to him, Ukrainians and Russians allegedly come to Bali to look for work on tourist permits.
Indonesia prohibits the employment and creation of businesses by foreign nationals visiting the country as tourists.
The island’s immigration service reported the deportation of 31 tourists from Ukraine and Russia.
We remind you, earlier in Indonesia it was forbidden to have sex outside of marriage. Violators of the law face up to a year in prison.
