The second sowing campaign since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation this week began in Ukraine.
The first 16 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have already been sown. In addition, Ukraine and Poland have simplified the border crossing for agricultural products. Kiev is also working on extending the grain initiative and expanding the transshipment of the Danube ports. On March 12, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal announced this on Facebook.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said that due to the conduct of hostilities or the temporary occupation of territories, it was impossible to use 25% of the sown area.
Recall that in the summer of 2022, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Nikolay Solsky stated that Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine led to the fact that the Ukrainian agrarian system was rejected years ago. After the end of the war, the restoration of the agricultural sector will take a long time.
The government said that it is possible to return investors to agribusiness, but it is necessary to introduce an insurance system that will work in a war. Such a system operates in Israel.
