The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and discussed other defense needs.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny on Saturday, March 11, had a telephone conversation with the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley. He wrote about it on Telegram.
Zaluzhny noted that during the negotiations with Milli, he dwelt in detail on the issue of Ukraine’s defense needs. The parties discussed the supply of ammunition and equipment.
“He pointed out the need to strengthen the capabilities of the air defense system. He told General Milli about the situation on the battlefield. We agreed to continue the dialogue and cooperate,” Zaluzhny wrote.
He also added that he is grateful to US President Joe Biden, the general and the entire American people for supporting Ukraine.
Recall that at the end of February, Zaluzhny discussed with Milli the transfer of F-16 to Ukraine. Later it became known that Ukrainian pilots had come to the United States for testing.
