The passenger, who had no flying experience, landed safely on a single-engine plane after the pilot was hit by a suspicious ambulance AND fell into “uneven” control.
Air traffic controllers instructed the man on the radio as he was driving a private trailer onto a runway at Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport.
The passenger, the only person on board, had no flying experience prior to the dreadful landing.
In the audio shared on the air traffic management website LiveATC.net, he heard a man tell air traffic controllers in Fort Pierce that he was in a “scary situation” because the pilot was “incompatible” .
“He had no idea” how the plane was headed, he said, and didn’t know its location.
The air traffic controller advised the passenger to start the wings of the plane at the beginning of the slow descent to the ground.
The plane was followed by radar near Boca Raton. Another Palm Beach controller took the instructions and instructed the passenger how to land the plane in one piece.
The pilot will be taken to the hospital. Details not available. Neither the pilot nor the passenger is known.
