During the meeting, special attention was paid to the strengthening of air defense and missile defense of Ukraine, which is now underway.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gramm. The head of state announced this on Friday, March 10.
“Norway has supported Ukraine since the first day of a full-scale war and has done a lot to make our soldiers strong on the battlefield. We appreciate it,” Zelensky said.
The President emphasized that the main priority of Ukraine is the strengthening of the Armed Forces. During the meeting, they discussed increasing the supply of weapons and expediting the receipt of previously announced aid.
Also, special attention was paid to practical effective measures in the context of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and missile defense, which are now being implemented.
“I thank the government, parliament and all the people of Norway for their comprehensive assistance to Ukraine and our people,” the head of state added.
Recall that in February, the Norwegian Parliament approved a five-year program to support Ukraine in the amount of $7.4 billion. Our country will receive this money regardless of the political composition of the Norwegian government in the future.
It has also been reported that Norway will transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
